Ferreira, a port wine cellar built around the image of D. Antónia Ferreira, a unique woman in a male-dominated industry in the 19th century.
The visit begins precisely in a small museum room with D. Antonia's objects, followed by a detailed explanation of the different types of Port.
Before the tasting, there is still another museum with vintage photographs, and with objects used in the production of wine, aguardente (spirit) and the company's former cooperage.
The Cellers of Porto wine Ferreira have two spacious tasting rooms, as well as a very small room, all lined with Portuguese tiles, where I had the privilege of tasting 5 different types of Porto wines (D. Antónia tasting, for those interested).
